OpsExtreme HWB Boot Launched
The second boot in the OpsSystems Extreme range of boots has been launched today. Following the unveiling of the OpsExtreme CT Boot earlier this week the Company has added a light weight HWB (Hot Weather Boot) to its offering.
"The OpsExtreme HWB is something that we have been researching for over a year" said John Carpenter, Sales & Marketing Director. "Having talked to people working in very hot climates such as Ethiopia and the Middle East we discovered that many boots in the market were suffering purely because the extreme heat. Components like soles were failing due to the adhesives returning to a liquid state in very high temperatures. We also found that the sheer weight of some boots was causing unnessessary fatigue in wearers and the lack of heat disipation caused foot problems."
As a result Justin Lafford, Head of Design, decided from the start to build the boot using a stitch down platform. Top quality suede and CORDURA® mesh used in the upper has been reinforced in essential areas to provide strength. The padded COOLMAX® lining provides increased comfort, temperature control and moisture wicking in the forefoot, heel and ankle areas. The lacing system has been taken further down the forefoot which creates full forefoot support, and the flex points have been double layered to ensure durability.
The slightly longer bellows tongue ensures sand and debrit are kept out. Only nylon lacing furniture has been used and with no metal shank this boot is perfect for EOD use in the field.
